Phuket Sustainability
Indigos' Nick Anthony has been focused on long term island sustainability since 2008 working with NGOs such as IUCN, WWF and TEI (Thai Environmental Institute) in forming a new Phuket NGO called SEEK, www.myseek.org that brings together the local provincial Governor, local government, local businesses (inc the likes of Tesco Lotus and local hotels), local NGOs and private individuals to ensure Phuket plans for the future.
SEEK is mapping a sustainability plan for the future, incorporating energy efficiency and renewables, cleaner beaches and better waste management, stronger marine protection, green building initiatives and importantly local education.
Phuket is blessed with such amazing natural beauty we all have a responsibility to preserve it for future generations.
With Bangkok based artist Budis he wrote and produced a kids book called "Princess Sausage, an Island life" about his dog who was a stray from Surin Beach.
His second book due to be published in early 2013 is called "Tommy The Turtle", also by the artist Budis, teaches kids about the damage litter and plastics do in the ocean, educating them about waste management and rethinking Trash as Treasure.
Nick is based in Surin Beach and is passionate about the natural environment, protecting oceans and the dolphins, turtles and dugongs that have struggled against ocean pollution.
